Attachées dos à dos par une tige filetée à deux endroits différents au niveau du manche et recouvertes d’un scotch emballage Castorama™.
L’artiste, tel un prestidigitateur, renverse l’objet, le dédouble, transforme le fer en or et, par glissement poétique produit par le métal et les ombres portées, fait apparaître les oiseaux de Braque, vibrants sur la surface éclairée.

The artist, as a prestidigitator, overturns the piece of art, duplicates it, turns iron into gold and through a poetic shift created by the metal and drop shadows, eventually reveals the “birds of Braque”, pulsing on the illuminated surface.

Fait allusion au peintre Georges Braque, revenu mutilé de la grande guerre en 1915.
Rebaptisée « En prévision d’un bras cassé », la pelle suspendue (telle une épée de Damoclès) dans l’atelier de Marcel Duchamp signalait le danger imminent quand les rues de New-York enneigées n’étaient pas déblayées.

Reference to painter Georges Braque, who came back war-crippled from WWI in 1915.
Renamed: « En prévision d’un bras cassé » (In advance of the broken arm), the suspended shovel (standing as a sword of Damocles) in Marcel Duchamp’s workshop, was pointing out an imminent risk when New York City streets covered in snow were not cleared.
